BENU is a creative brand of writing instruments and accessories based in Armenia, founded byAlex Semanin and Kate Dmitrieva. With backgrounds in fine watchmaking, jewelry, and home décor, they sought to bring a bold, new artistic concept to the world of writing tools. Their goal was simple: to create pens and desk accessories for those who prefer bright colors, playful designs, and a touch of fun in their everyday writing instruments. Inspired by the art of fountain pens, they combined their expertise to build a brand that would redefine writing with style.

The first collection of BENU pens launched in 2016 and over the years, their dedication to craftsmanship and artistic design has helped the brand gain global recognition.

The name "BENU" was carefully chosen to reflect the brand’s core values and creative vision. In ancient Egyptian mythology, the Benu bird symbolizes the sun, creation, and rebirth, much like the brand’s approach to redefining the art of writing in the modern world. The Benu bird also represents constant change and renewal, reflecting how, despite the rise of digital communication, there is still a high demand for stylish, elegant writing instruments.
